In 1989, Artist Noami Foster started out going Western State College in Gunnison, CO to further pursue her passion for art. Hers main areas of study through four years of college were commercial art and literature. During her last year at Western State College her desire for fine art magnified after participating in her senior art show and being invited to show in a statewide exhibit for graduating seniors, held at Metro State College art gallery in Denver, CO. It was this experience that open doors to other exhibits, art festivals and private showing. In 1993 she received her BA in Commercial Art.
After 4 years of being a part of the local art industry, Noami made a move that would take her down a different path. For 10 years Noami dedicated her life to serving in the ministry. From teaching art classes to elementary/middle school children to being a youth leader and mentor to several women, Noami focused her time and talents on helping people find their purpose and brought healing to much of their lives.
2003 Noami began to feel a strong desire to return to the art industry and follow her purpose in life. After making her home in Denver, CO for 10 years, she returned to school by attending Colorado Technical University and in 2007 received her BS degree in Visual Communications. Combining her passion for the arts and her desire to help young people, and inspired by the song “True Colors” the collection was created.
The True Colors Collection, though made up of African American and Bi-racial children, crosses all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, by capturing the spirit of a child in their everyday activities. In this collection you will immediately think about a child you know and that is the purpose of “True Colors”. Pulling from her graphic design experience each expression from the collection was matched with a certain color. It’s the combination of color and expression that makes this collection so very captivating.
