MARY MARY SIGN ON FOR ANOTHER SEASON OF BET’S “SUNDAY BEST”
Casting for Season 2 of BET’s gospel singing competition, “Sunday Best” has already begun, and gospel duo Mary Mary say contestants can expect more of their tough love when taping begins in March.
“[As judges] we were able to give people a glimpse into what the real gospel music industry looks like,” Erica told Milk Magazine. “It’s not just prayer and everybody’s loving each other. You can make a joyful noise at the church, but if you want people to buy your joyful noise, there’s a few more things that you have to consider.”
The always outspoken Tina admits that, while some fans may have been turned off by her honesty, she has no regrets.
“I was brought on the show to do a job. I never lied. I never intentionally tried to hurt someone’s feelings,” she explained. “But, when you get behind these doors with these executives, they are not like your youth pastor who’s just so concerned with your soul and spirit and they don’t wanna hurt you. They are about the business of business. So, we try to give people the truth like, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ That sounds mean, but sometimes you have to say that.”
