Tyler Perry protegee Tamela Mann, Stellar Award winner Jonathan Nelson and Nashville soul singer Wess Morgan are all appearing on the Tuesday, July 22, 2008 episode of TBN’s “Praise the Lord” program. Guest host Jason Crabb will interview each of the singers following their performances before a live studio audience in Atlanta.

Fresh off the set of a new “Madea” movie and filming the upcoming “Meet the Browns” TV series, Tamela Mann is reminding people that she’s a singer first. She’ll be singing songs from her latest CD/DVD project “The Tamela Mann Live Experience” (TillyMann Music Group) which features Tamela’s smoking house band, Myron Butler & Levi’s thick choir vocals, special lighting effects and three slick costumes changes. That project has earned Tamela three Stellar nominations in the categories of Female Vocalist of the Year, Producer of the Year and Contemporary Female of the Year.

Jonathan Nelson is a Stellar Award winning songwriter making his national debut as a singer on his latest project “Right Now Praise” (Integrity). Nelson’s radio single “My Name is Victory” is currently #11 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel songs chart and climbing. The collection is rounded out with a dozen other songs featuring gospel luminaries such as Sheri Moffet-Jones on “Yes, Out There”, William Murphy on “Great and Mighty”, Nikki Ross on “Already Mine” and Nelson’s twin brother Jason on “Right Now Praise.”

The newest and most exciting face on the gospel landscape is Wess Morgan. A former coke addict who sings about God’s pulling him through his trials and tribulations on his new CD “Look at Me Now” (Oak Tree/Bow Tie World) is watching his single “You Brought Me Out” with gospel legend Daryl Coley rise on the radio singles chart. “What God has given to me is not just for the church,” Morgan says. “There’s such a yearning in me, a longing to go outside of the Christian community and be a story of hope for people of all walks of life. Whether you are a Christian or not, if you aren’t an addict, I bet you know someone who is. It’s not about religion, not about dos and don’ts. It’s about an experience with God. He’s no respecter of persons. He went where I was and found me. He didn’t find me in the church. God’s love pursued me and tracked me down like a hound dog.”
