Bishop Kenneth M. Yelverton is the Founder and Pastor of The Temple of Refuge International Fellowship, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is anointed to extract from the Holy Scriptures revelatory messages that bring deliverance and healing to the total person; mind, body, and spirit.
Bishop Kenneth Yelverton is the last of seven children, born to Bishop & Mrs. Frizelle Yelverton of Durham, North Carolina. After graduating from Hillside High School, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During his college experience, he accepted the call to ministry. In preparation for ministry, he obtained a Master of Divinity Degree from the Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, North Carolina.
After much prayer, in January of 1999 he heeded to what the Lord had impressed upon his heart and birthed The Temple of Refuge International Fellowship, a ministry with global outreach that focuses on the healing and wholeness of broken people – empowering them to reach their God-ordained destinies. The Temple of Refuge is a vibrant ministry noted for its powerful preaching, dynamic worship, and community impact. Presently there are over 20 ministries operating in the ministry, as well as a grant funded after-school program called HYPE (Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence), which helps at-risk youth to achieve academic success and gain life skills management.
Bishop Yelverton is connected with The Gathering Fellowship of Churches and Ministries, which is a International Fellowship that seeks to nurture Pastors and Ministries in Kingdom building and providing excellence in service to God and His people. Part of his God assignment includes the planting and covering of Pastors and churches through covenant relationships as well as planning and expanding the outreach of the Fellowship.
Bishop Yelverton is truly a God-sent gift to the body of Christ, with a tenacious commitment to excellence in ministry, which transcends all social, racial, and economic barriers. The seed of humble service planted by his parents continues to resonate within his heart, as Bishop Yelverton passionately walks in God’s mandate upon his life.
In June of 1991 the Lord highly favored Bishop Yelverton with his lovely wife, Lady Sharon A. Yelverton. Graced with both a prophetic gift, and the gift of administration, she faithfully works at his side to oversee and direct the affairs of the ministry. They are the proud parents of two children – Kendall and Kendrick.
Bishop Yelverton’s personal motto scripture is 2 Corinthians 4:5, 7 which reads, “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake… But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.
